Team Prez Wednesday Workout

 

    • This report will be released at 11 PM EST every Wednesday with updates on late practices and West Coast teams throughout the evening.
    • This 5-7 page report has Team Prez Scouts covering the key player notes from all the league wide Wednesday Workouts. Team Prez will literally tell you who took the reps in practice, who workout and who is injured.

Wednesday Workout Report

ATLANTA FALCONS (0-1) AT JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (0-1) 1:00 PM EST
Jaguars -10.5 / 34.5

FALCONS
DT Rod Coleman (knee) wasn't present at Wednesday's workout, according to Team Prez sources. Backup DT Jonathan Babineaux took all of the first team reps and is expected to start for the second straight game.  

FS Chris Crocker (knee) missed practice on Wednesday and isn't expected to take part in Thursday or Friday reps. The free safety didn’t play in Week 1 and won’t play in Sunday’s Week 2 game against the Jags. Backup DB Jimmy Williams started for Crocker and will again Sunday against Jacksonville.

JAGUARS
K Josh Scobee (quad) missed Wednesday's workout and after suffering a quad injury during Sunday’s pregame warm-ups the kicker will miss from 4-6 weeks.

The team is expected to sign veteran John Carney sometime today.  

 

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (0-1) AT TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (0-1) 1:00 PM EST

TE Mark Campbell (back) was inactive for the Week 1 game against the Colts and is could land on injured reserve, this according to Team Prez sources.
 
BUCCANEERS
RB Carnell Williams (ribs) didn't take part in Wednesday's workout, outside of some running on the side. Team Prez sources report, “He was very limited today, but head coach Jon Gruden said after Wednesday's practice that Williams still has a chance to play Sunday."  If Williams isn't active for Sunday's game versus the Saints backup RB Michael Pittman will start.

 

BUFFALO BILLS (0-1) AT PITTSBURGH STEELERS (1-0) 1:00 PM EST

BILLS
RB Marshawn Lynch (illness) didn't practice Wednesday but should be fine to play on Sunday.
Team Prez reports that Lynch was suffering from the flu or a mild case of food poisoning.
Dick Jauron told sources “We don’t think its long term, at least we’re hoping it’s not. We’re hoping it’s passed already.”

STEELERS
Pittsburgh entered Week 1 without any significant injuries and exited their 34-7 rout of the Browns in nearly perfect health.
 

HOUSTON TEXANS (1-0) AT CAROLINA PANTHERS 1:00 PM EST
Panthers – 6.5 / 38

TEXANS
DT Travis Johnson (foot) was not present at Wednesday's work and isn't expected to play on Sunday.
 
PANTHERS
CB Chris Gamble (ankle) took full reps during Wednesday's workout and after being limited in the team's Week 1 sessions the cover corner is expected to start against Houston on Sunday.


GREEN BAY PACKERS (1-0) AT NEW YORK GIANTS (0-1) 1:00 PM EST

Giants -3 / 39.5

PACKERS
RB Vernand Morency (knee) was limited during Wednesday's work and according to Team Prez sources won't dress for Sunday's game.

WR Greg Jennings (hamstring) was limited on Wednesday but is expected to return to practice on Thursday.

DE Aaron Kampman (ribs) was held out of Wednesday's practice, but we're told he will play Sunday.
 
GIANTS
QB Eli Manning (shoulder) didn't take any snaps during Wednesday's workout. Backup QB Jared Lorenzen took the majority of the first team reps.

RB Brandon Jacobs (knee) has been ruled out of Sunday's game with backup RB Derrick Ward getting 90 percent of the first team snaps during Wednesday's work. Ward will start Sunday versus a stiff Packers front seven.

DE Osi Umenyiora (knee) didn't practice Wednesday. The rush end spend the entire workout on the stationary bike. His status is still questionable for Sunday's game at the Meadowlands.
 

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (1-0) AT ST. LOUIS RAMS (1-0) 1:00 PM EST

San Francisco entered Week 1 healthy for the most part and exited in the same fashion
 
RAMS
OLT Orlando Pace (shoulder) is expected to be placed on injured reserve sometime this week. The All World left tackle tore his labrum in the Week 1 loss to Tampa and is expected to miss the rest of the season. RT Alex Barron took the first teams snaps in place of Pace and  to the left side and backup lineman Adam Goldberg replaced Barron on the right side. 

 

CINCINNATI BENGALS (1-0) AT CLEVELAND BROWNS (0-1) 1:00 PM EST

WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (knee) didn't practice on Wednesday but his absence was precautionary. He will take some reps before Friday and is expected to start Sunday.

K Shayne Graham (hip) didn't kick on Wednesday but is expected to fill his normal special team responsibilities on Sunday.
 
BROWNS
OLB Willie McGinest (back) didn't practice on Wednesday and has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bengals.
 

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (1-0) AT TENNESSEE TITANS (1-0) 1:00 PM EST
Colts – 7.5 / 46

COLTS
WLB Freddy Keiaho (elbow) didn't practice on Wednesday and while head coach Tony Dungy is calling his starting weak side backer questionable for Sunday's game, Team Prez sources are saying he won't play.

SLB Rob Morris (rib) missed Wednesday workout and Team Prez sources report that the Colts are not expected to have either Keiaho or Morris for Sunday's game against the run-first Titans offense.

TITANS
The Titans came out of their Week 1 win over Jacksonville healthy and everyone practiced on Wednesday.

 

MINNESOTA VIKINGS (1-0) AT DETROIT LIONS (1-0) 4:05 PM EST

VIKINGS
RB Chester Taylor (hip) didn't take part in any significant practice reps on Wednesday.  Rookie RB Adrian Peterson took the first team reps and appears poised to start Sunday for the injured Taylor.

LIONS
RB Kevin Jones (foot) was limited in Wednesday's workout and won't play Sunday. Backup RB Tatum Bell is expected to start again. Team Prez sources reported that Jones took hard reps on Wednesday and the team will see how his foot responds on Thursday. However, the chances of him playing on Sunday in any capacity are slim to none.

 

DALLAS COWBOYS (1-0) AT MIAMI DOLPHINS (0-1) 4:05 PM EST

COWBOYS
WR Terry Glenn (knee) missed practice on Wednesday and isn't expected to take any reps for another 2-4 weeks. No. 3 WR Patrick Crayton will start for the second straight game.
 
CB Terence Newman (foot) didn't practice on Wednesday but Team Prez sources report he is close to returning. He is still a question mark for the Week 2 contest against Miami.

DOLPHINS
RB Jesse Chatman (knee) didn't practice on Wednesday and is questionable for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.
 

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (1-0) AT ARIZONA CARDINALS (0-1) 4:05 PM EST

SEAHAWKS
WR D.J. Hackett (ankle) didn't dress for practice on Wednesday and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks. Backup WR Nate Burleson will start Sunday in Arizona.
 
CARDINALS
C Al Johnson (knee) didn't practice on Wednesday and won't play Sunday versus the Seahawks. The starting center was injured in the Week 1 loss to the 49ers. Backup C Lyle Sendlein took all of the first team reps and is expected to start for Johnson.

DT Alan Branch (hand), who was inactive in Week 1, didn't practice on Wednesday and is very questionable for Sunday's game. 

DT Ross Kolodziej (knee) took reps during Wednesday's workout and is expected to dress on Sunday after missing the Week 1 loss to San Francisco.

 

NEW YORK JETS (0-1) AT BALTIMORE RAVENS (0-1) 4:15 PM EST
Ravens – 9.5 / 33

QB Chad Pennington (ankle) was limited on Wednesday. Backup QB Kellen Clemens took the first team reps and is expected to start Sunday, this according to Team Prez sources. 
 
RAVENS
QB Steve McNair (groin)  didn't practice Wednesday and the veteran is very questionable for the home opener against the Jets. WR Mark Clayton (ankle) was limited during Wednesday's work and is questionable for Sunday's game.

WR Demetrius Williams (chest), who would start in place of Clayton if necessary, was limited in practice. He is, however, expected to practice on Thursday and dress Sunday.

TE Todd Heap (elbow) practiced Wednesday and is expected to start.

LT Jonathan Ogden (toe) didn't practice Wednesday and won't play on Sunday, according to Team Prez sources.

MLB Ray Lewis (arm) didn't practice Wednesday but Team Prez sources expect him to play Sunday.

 

OAKLAND RAIDERS (0-1) AT DENVER BRONCOS (1-0) 4:15 PM EST
Broncos – 9.5 / 37

RAIDERS
QB Josh McCown (broken finger) didn't practice Wednesday and despite reports that he is questionable to practice this week and play on Sunday, Team Prez sources report that the starter will be under center for Sunday's game against the Broncos. Backup QB Daunte Culpepper took all of the first team reps on Wednesday.
 
BRONCOS
G Ben Hamilton (concussion) missed practice on Wednesday and won't play Sunday.

DE Tim Crowder (back) was back at practice on Wednesday after missing the Week 1 game against the Bills and is expected to play Sunday.

 

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (0-1) AT CHICAGO BEARS (0-1) 4:15 PM EST

CHIEFS
WR Eddie Kennison (hamstring) will miss several weeks, this according to Team Prez sources. Rookie WR Dwayne Bowe will get the start.

BEARS
FS Mike Brown (knee) was lost for the season to an ACL tear. S Danieal Manning took the first team reps on Wednesday in Browns spot.
 

SAN DIEGO CHARGERS (1-0) AT NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (1-0) 8:15 PM EST

CHARGERS
TE Antonio Gates (back) surprisingly missed Wednesday's practice. The All Pro has reportedly been experiencing back spasms. His status for Sunday is currently questionable, however, Team Prez sources report they expect him to play Sunday in New England.
 
PATRIOTS
TE David Thomas (foot) missed practice on Wednesday. The backup tight end didn't dress for the Week 1 win against the Jets and is very questionable for Sunday's contest versus San Diego.

 

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

WASHINGTON REDSKINS (0-1) AT PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (0-1) 8:35 PM EST
