Who is Smart Money?

We asked Alex a few questions regarding his gambling history, style and experiences.

Where are you based out of?

I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia in Eastern Canada and spend the majority of my winters in Cocoa Beach, Florida.

How man Years have you been Handicapping?

I have been gambling on sports for 30 years now and selling my plays for the better part of 2 decades as Smart Wagering. I joined Who2beton in 2000 and have had only 1 losing NFL and CFB since.

What are the Systems and methods you use for Selections?

I call my handicapping approach 'The Smart Money Approach". I leave no stone unturned in the overall process of delivering winners. I use and indepth data base of information and statistics that takes into consideration, injuries, current and historical trends, overall form, weather, surface conditions, team sources and line movement.

How do you Rate your Selections?

I only isolate what I considers to be very 'Strong Plays', I advise all my personall clients that 90% all my bets have the same unit allocation. I recommend keeping your wagers from the 2% to 5% of your total bankroll! Staying within these guidelines will give you, the sports wagering investor, the highest probability of having successful sports wagering campaigns.

  • Expect 2 to 5 plays on an average day, across all the sports!
  • 1-3 Unit plays are Actions
  • 4 Unit Plays are Best Bets
  • 5 & 7 Unit Bets are Top Plays - Title games like Game of Week

Alex won't limit his clients to a set amount of games. There may be days when no plays are offered and days when he may see an abundance of plays that offer incredible value.

What are the Sports you are best at Winning in?

Pro and College Football has always been my bread and butter during any of my annual wagering campaigns, with college and pro basketball and a variety of other peripheral sports also providing both myself and my clients with another consistent positive return on investment.

I spend a fair amount of time invested in providing Arena Football and WNBA picks and my favorite sport to bet and the one I wager the most on is Canadian Football. If you were to play any of my sports, I would put CFL 1st, with NFL, CFB and WNBA as close 2nds.

Name something people tend to overlook or miss when handicapping a game?

One of the most important things, I look at is strength of schedule: the one thing most over looked things by sports handicappers.

What is your Favorite movie of all time (doesn't have to be gambling related)?

Goodfellas staring Robert Di Nero , Joe Pesci, Ray Liotta.

Is their one piece of advice you can give to new gamblers?

My best advice for a new gambler is the always try to remain patient and disciplined, and to keep a proper record keeping system of all the wagers they make during any overall campaign.
