Slugger Albert Pujols signed a 10-year deal with the Los Angeles Angels worth $254 million Thursday; this comes right after left-handed hurler C.J. Wilson, who comes over from the leading American League West rivals, the Texas Rangers.
Caesar’s in Las Vegas moved the Angels from 10:1 to 5:1 to win the 2012 World Series. This is one of the larger swings in the history of MLB futures in the month of December, second only to, this seasons, Florida Fish (our favorite MLB nickname).
The Florida Marlins, now with a new signature, the Miam Marlins are the other team to make winter meeting news by signing shortstop Jose Reyes and southpaw Mark Buehrle this past week.
The Marlins opened at 60-1 to win the World Series but have dropped to 10-1 with this week’s moves.
MLB futures for sportsbook abroad, and in Las Vegas, face some additional variables in figuring the odds, with the newest factor being the extra wildcard spots that have been added to the MLB postseason.
5Dimes.com differs from Caesar’s future odds but expect drastic changes in these numbers in the next few weeks, too.
