Tradelines Fab Five for Sunday’s Tums Fast Relief 500 ——
1 Jeff Gordon (Chevrolet)
Though Gordon’s comeback chances are slim, he’ll continue to battle it out to the end. He’s had 30 top-tens and seven wins at Martinsville.
2 Carl Edwards (Ford)
He’s got enough of a lead that the likelihood of anyone catching him without a slip-up on his part is extremely slim. He is relaxed and knows how to stay out of trouble.
3 Kevin Harvick (Chevrolet)
Harvick will be especially motivated to get back what he lost last weekend at Talladega where he became involved in a multi-car crash that put him behind and ultimately finishing in 32nd. He dropped three places in the standings in the process, and is 26 points from the lead. Harvick was able to win at Martinsville back in April, and he really likes the short track.
4 Jimmie Johnson (Chevrolet)
Sunday at little Martinsville Speedway shapes up as Jimmie Johnson’s last stand, the final gasp of his championship run, the one remaining Hail Mary opportunity to try and keep alive hopes of title No. 6. Expect Jimmie and his team’s best effort.
5 Kyle Busch (Toyota)
He fell two places in the standings and is 40 points away from the lead but he’ll certainly put up a fight in Martinsville. Busch led for the most laps at the track back in April, and ended up finishing in third.
